Half - Life 2 Cinematic Mod.

I love seeing how you can improve the visual, sound etc for games. I came across this one for Half - Life 2 called Cinematic Mod and it's truly amazing how much detail has been put into it. HL2/Source Engine always has suffered from low res textures, however, this mod can fix that.

Official Website

It features the following:

- Raise the quite outdated graphical appearance to a state-of-the-art level

- Give the HL2 trilogy a more stressed, darker and minatory look

- Complement the atmosphere with a emotional cinematic music soundtrack, that fits the action on the screen

- Replace the low-resolution textures with high resolution counterparts and more detailed environments (hires melons!)

- Complement the storyline with the unused content from the original games

- Refresh the look and feel with optional new HD models

- Add more replay-value

Orange Box 2

This will obviously be another huge box if there ever is one, it might contain Half Life 2: Episode 3, Counter Strike 2, Portal 2, another Popcap game, Peggle 2?...and who knows what else. Could be something completely new and different like Portal was.

Onto the Source Engine, what upgrades would we be looking at if the orange box 2 comes out. Direct X 10 is probably going to be the biggest upgrade and the only major upgrade that they've got left now. Higher resolution textures would be also a nice upgrade, the textures now just seem really blocky, compared to most recent games.

I'm going to be keeping a good look out for all these games.

Here's a funny video for you :D
