First 3D TVs

It's long until the first 3D TVs hit the stores. The expected date to see them in stores is in April.

There will be several TVs to choose from by the end of the year, details of them aren't complete as we don't know the price range or if you will have to wear glasses for the 3D effect.

Now onto the different types of 3D technology and one them is active shutter technology which most sets will be using. This works where powered glasses dim the glass over the left and right eyes. The effect is that each eye sees a separate stream of images which enable true 3D.

Then there's the cheaper alternative where you will have to use polarised glasses, like the ones handed to you in the cinemas for the latest 3D movies. These give each eye with a filtered version of the image on screen, so that each sees a slightly different image, tricking the brain into processing a 3D view.

Another thing is Sky will be launching their 3D channels in April, as well as 3D Blu-ray players.
