To see or not to see...

...it's up to you but in the following will be several cool looking games.

Firstly, the one that could be a huge failure or a huge ground breaker is a game called Prototype, gory, open world, destruction, guns, explosions and some fancy parkour, this isn't the end of the list, however, it is somewhat only a few of the amazing looking things you can do.

Below is one of the videos which shows you the powers, weapons and combat in the game.

This one will show you artistic vision.

"Environmental Interaction"

...and finally the story of Alex Mercer.

Looks pretty good don't it.

Anyway, onto other things now and i would like to say please visit flamegoat.net it's a gaming/artistic/developer and everything else community which is helping donate to St. Jude's hospital. Nearly everyday they cast live gaming over at justin.tv/flamegoat - So please check 'em out, spread the word and hope you enjoy your stay.

Long time no blog...

Yeah, been a while since the last blog post, quite a bit has happened as usual. To start with, something needs to be answered, it could a while until we find out, it's about the next Fast and Furious, this will contain spoilers so you've been warned. So as we all know who have watched Tokyo Drift, Han died in a crash, right? So how come he's in the cast for the next Fast and Furious. Is it a mistake or is he really going to be there? Can't wait to find out. Link is to the next Fast and Furious (4th).

Still on the subject of movies, a next big movie coming is Hancock, this is a movie that you know could be awful or outstanding, from the trailers though, it sure does look impressive so far. You may disagree with me here but i think Will Smith fits the role of Hancock perfectly. Trailer can be found here

Drifting away from movies and now lets have a mini review of Battlefield: Bad Company. Lets start positive with this game, to start with i personally think it's amazing, i've played the demo and seen some awesome videos. Started the single player demo part, it was short but satisfying to say the least, dialogue was amusing at times as i expected. From what i've read about the story, it is going to be deep and not some plane old lets blow everything up story, it's actually going to be worthy to play through. Onto the multiplayer now and it is a whole lot of fun, blowing shit up is class, the vehicles are sweet to drive and obviously the tank, the air strikes are cool but you gotta be lucky to get on it because people seem to hog it which is understandable because you really do rack up a load of points with it. I think a brilliant thing which can be passed onto the final version are the unlocks, anything you unlock in the demo will be unlocked in the final release. Furthermore, the graphics have obviously been improved, a lot, it does look very pretty and with all the shit that goes on, i can safely say it feels like a Battlefield, lets not forget the sound. In 5.1 surround it sounds brilliant, whack the bass up and turn the volume up, enough said.

Bad points of the game are obvious, biggest bad point is no prone, what the fuck!, you're wearing one of those gillie sniper suit things and you can't prone!, it's not a massive downer but why they never allowed you to prone i'll never know, still there are bushes and plenty of buildings to nest in, not only that but the sniper scope is dead still, so no crouch or prone seems necessary when aiming the sniper. Other than that, you can only wait until the final game is out to really bitch about it. For now, we'll sit back and enjoy some demo gameplay which is available on both PS3 and Xbox 360.

That'll do for now, will post sooner than before.

Things I'm Looking Forward To.

There's quite a few things really, i was hoping to say the Euro 2008 but England are not in it. Grrr...So instead i've decided to follow Portugal, seem like the more entertaining team, mainly because of Cristiano Ronaldo, i know.

That isn't the only thing, there's a few movies such as the next Fast and Furious but that won't be out until next year. I think there's a Toy Story 3, this will be a while yet aswell, 2010. There's also Shrek Goes Fourth aka 'Untitled Fourth Shrek Movie', this is also being released in 2010. I heard a Bioshock movie was in the making so that should be interesting too, 2010. There are a few more but these seem at the top at the moment.

Onto games now and the one i can't wait to get my hands on is GTAIV. There's also Battlefield: Bad Company, Far Cry 2, Gears of War 2 and finally the most amazing next generation city or should i say world builder simulater called Cities XL. It does look pretty amazing, the launch trailer can be seen below.

Random things

A lot of things have happened in the last few days, some bad but mostly good. To start with Valve have finally started to update their games, starting with the game Day of Defeat: Source.

A new update adding support for Steamworks is currently available in beta for Day of Defeat: Source, the popular World War II online action game from Valve, creators of the Half-Life and Counter-Strike games.
Leveraging the recently released free set of services available in Steamworks, the Day of Defeat update will add 51 achievements for DoD, player avatar display in the scoreboard and win panel, and detailed player statistics integrated with the Steam Community features (www.steamcommunity.com).

You can read the rest at Steam or my site

For all you GTAIV fans, you should check this out, it's about the cars of GTAIV. Click to see

Did anyone watch the football, champions league final between Chelsea and Man Utd?
If you didn't then you should've because it was a brilliant match, Man Utd won but only just, if Terry never had slipped then maybe Chelsea would've won. It's a good job Terry is not old because he would've had a heart attack after that penalty miss.

Lastly, one of the best adverts everyone is talking about is pure genious, i know some of it's CGI and the rest is actually real. If you haven't got a clue what i mean then just see the video below.

MMO's and RPG's.

So many bad looking ones and so many good looking ones. A lot of my attention has been on MMO's/RPG's, been hearing quite a lot about them and a lot of them are coming in the future. Some maybe true and some maybe just a rumor.

The ones that caught my eye are:

- Oblivion MMO (Would be fucking awesome)
- Call of Duty MMO (3 words, What the fuck?)
- Hello Kitty MMO (Haha, Oh no)
- Fable 2 (Fable 1 was awesome, so will this one be. Hopefully)

...and i'm sure there will be many more, oh and you can see why I mention some bad ones.

Might start playing Oblivion again because it has to be the best RPG ever. It's just a whole new world with endless randomness from here there and everywhere.

Final word, if anyone's looking for some good live action gameplay then visit here http://www.flamegoat.net - these guys are really cool.

Hot, hot, hot...

Where has it come from, it has been so hot all of a sudden for the last few days. I started to feel as though summer was never coming.

All day I've been outside with my girlfriend and her nephew, playing football, jumping on the trampoline, playing with the dogs and of course drinking plenty of water. Lets hopeit stays like this because we've had quite a lot of rain. It gets boring being stuck indoors most of the time.

Been watching a few live streams of GTAIV to see how good it really is and i don't blame most reviews for giving a 9 - 10/10 because it deserves it. This is definatly a game i've put on the top of my list. I'm trying not to watch too much or i'll spoil it for myself, most of the time when there is a spoiler i turn away and look at something else.

Anyone been watching Britain's Got Talent?
Well if not then check this out anyway, amazing.

Epic: No plans for another Unreal

I enjoyed playing the Unreal games, especially the first one but i suppose it's not a huge loss overall.

"Epic, as a company, is having a bit of a turbulent time right now as PC gamers turn against the now console-focused Unreal developer. There is one hope though, one thing which might return Epic to the good graces of PC enthusiasts.

We're talking about a new singleplayer Unreal game, naturally.

Unfortunately, the news is mixed and in a recent interview with Eurogamer Epic's Mark Rein confirms that although a new Unreal is definitely on the cards at some point, there's no plans right now.

"I'm sure that at some point in our future we will make another Unreal, single-player, story-driven game. I'm sure at some point there will be one...[however] there are no plans to do one today."

Ah well, at least Epic seems willing to return to the franchise. Plus, in the meantime, Epic continues on with development of Gears of War 2."

Call of Duty 4 is Awesome!

I need a slap on the wrist because i was trying to decide whether or not i should buy COD4 or Fifa '08. I had many debates on forums and stuff where everyone was saying i should buy COD4, well after kinda agreeing, i didn't and had a shit time with Fifa (Read blog below).

Anyway, after all the craptastic time with Fifa, i finally traded it with Assassin's Creed for COD4. I wish i brought this first time round because it hasn't let me down yet. Only when the server changes map it doesn't always change and for some reason pops up an error saying disconnected from server. I got used to it now and just the server i'm playing on to favourites so i can rejoin from there.

About the game now and i must say it is pretty damn good. I've been playing mostly multiplayer and finally got my GH3 (is that what it's called?) at level 24 i think. Nearly all the maps are cool, the main one that i'm not to sure about is the one on the ship, think it's called shipment. My favourite map is probably overgrown, i love just lying there in the grass then all of a sudden popping up right in front of an enemy and putting a bullet through his head.

Another cool feature with multiplayer is the unlocks, only down fall is there isn't any player customization, only weopons and inventory such as grenades. Then finally you got the perks which allow you to add different attributes to your character or weapon, such as Steady Aim, extra grenades and more stuff like this. These are only availabe when you have completed challenges like shooting 5 people in the head or something, or the best one, falling 30 feet to your death which gives a whopping 250pts, which is great, by the way.

To finish of, it is a shame i had to get rid of Fifa because it was a briliant game, however after all the trouble i had with i just had to give it up. Overall, i finished up with a fantastic multiplayer and single player game. Rating would be 9/10.

Finally Bought Fifa '08

Finally bought after many thoughts whether or not i should. Reason is that i had Call of Duty 4 on my mind as well. So i go to GAME and picks up a brand new copy which was about £44.99 - a bit pricey i know. Anyway, the bloke at the till asked me if i wanted a pre-owned for only £34.99. I thought OK because my last Fifa (07) worked well being a pre-owned. Before i purchased it the bloke warned me that there was 2 little scratches, which i thought 'oh well, i'll risk it'. Bad idea.

I get home to try my new Fifa (yay!), everything started up fine no funny sounds or CD stops. I thought i'd give be-a-pro mode out. Worked alright for about half of the match, at which point the CD stopped and disk read error popped up. Great! I tried it again but on a random quick match, same thing but with no sound. 3rd time never goes wrong, never. Weirdly enough, i kept this up for about a week then i just started getting annoyed with it. Once the players didn't show up so this ball looked like it was going round by itself, quite amusing.

Eventually i took it back to get a replacment which i did, the CD looked fine no marks, only a little circle which meant it would possibly go wrong and it did. This time it won't even start a match. Furthermore, i went back and thought 'third time lucky'. Guess what...it works great! This time though the bloke replaced my poor copy of Fifa with a brand new with no charge.

Finally, my thoughts on Fifa are that it is what Fifa '07 should've been. Plenty of leagues, players, skill moves, better player movement and online is also a lot better. In addition, Be-a-Pro mode is pretty cool online and offline, shame you can't do a season like you can on the PS2/PC version.

Overall rating for Fifa '08 would be 9/10.

Manhunt 2 wins battle for release!

This is great news for Manhunt 2 fan, i'm not a particular fan but i did enjoy the last game for some time. Here's the article from BBC NEWS:

The ban on controversial video game Manhunt 2 in the UK has been lifted and the game will now go on sale.

The Video Appeals Committee upheld an earlier decision that the game could be sold, following a nine-month battle between makers Rockstar and UK censors.

The British Board of Film Classification had taken the fight to ban the game to the High Court, saying the game "went too far"...Read the rest here

New Website!

I have got a new website up and running which has my videos and pictures on it.

At the minute it looks quite cool and the scripts i've included work really well.

All it needs now is more content. I will try and add at least 1 or 2 things a day on it, or whatever comes across as interesting.

Black & White 3

Will there ever be a Black & White 3?

Hopefully yes because it is a good game, one of girlfriends favourite games, ever. If they ever did then it should have multiplayer in it. You get a certain amount of time to build then when the time comes you can start making the moves, either attack or defend. Another thing i would like to see is the ability to fish, because the only good thing about the water is you can chuck people it in to kill them, hehe.

Maybe they'll do something after Fable 2 or something, or they might never do another.

The Sims 3!

On March 19th, there will hopefully be more Sims 3 information. On the site which has been up for a few days now says that more information will be coming soon with a date at the bottom, "March 19th 2008". This is great news as it's been a while since anything has been said about it.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot Review

I've been watching this game for a while and it looks really good. I played the previous Condemned and it was really intense. This game looks a lot better from the screenshots and the trailers.

Picked this review up from bit-tech written by Joe Martin. You can see it Here - Condemned 2: Bloodshot Hands-on

Orange Box 2

This will obviously be another huge box if there ever is one, it might contain Half Life 2: Episode 3, Counter Strike 2, Portal 2, another Popcap game, Peggle 2?...and who knows what else. Could be something completely new and different like Portal was.

Onto the Source Engine, what upgrades would we be looking at if the orange box 2 comes out. Direct X 10 is probably going to be the biggest upgrade and the only major upgrade that they've got left now. Higher resolution textures would be also a nice upgrade, the textures now just seem really blocky, compared to most recent games.

I'm going to be keeping a good look out for all these games.

Here's a funny video for you :D

Counter Strike 2...

Recently watched GT TV on gametrailers which was all about Valve and what they are planning for the future. One question which was asked was "Is Counter Strike Dead?" and the reply they got from Doug Lambardi was "No, we will never abandon Counter Strike."

I've loved CSS from the day it came out, i played a bit of CS before CSS was released and i absolutly loved the new look CSS had to offer. From then on i was constantly checking new updates and we had new models, maps, graphics and a lot more. I was so into it that i must've joined like 5+ clans, only 1 of them being quite successful.

Now I'm wondering what they are going to do:

- Will they make a completely new CSS from scratch?

- Will we have to buy it?

- Will it be with the next Orange Box?

A while ago they were saying they were going to release updates for it when the Orange Box dies down a bit because of the amount of downloading there was, so who knows what will happen, we'll just have to wait for now.

Wooden Supercar.

Read in the telegraph about this Wooden Supercar called 'The Splinter' which is faster than a Porsche. It can produce upto 700bhp from its twin supercharged, 4.6 litre, V8 engine. Doesn't sound possible i know but it is, apparently.

Games I'm looking forward to.

This year is going to be another big year for gaming, for all platforms, especially the PS3 which apparently will out sell the Xbox 360, i think it might for about a month, then the 360 will crawl back to 2nd place. The Wii obviously isn't shifting, not for a while anyway.

The games i'm really looking forward to are:

1. GTA:IV - I've enjoyed all the GTA games from the start, my favourite out of the lot was Vice City, even though it didn't have as much in it as San Andreas, i still preferred the music, the time it was set, story and a lot more.

Here's the official site: http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/

2. Fifa '08 (Xbox 360) - I know it's been out for a while but i haven't had the chance to get, i felt a slight dissapointment with '07, it just didn't feel complete, only a few leagues, no skill moves and online just seemed like a 5 minute job. With '08 you get skill moves, a lot more leagues, a new Be-a-pro mode and more.

Here's the official site: http://www.fifa08.ea.com/uk/

3. Gears Of War 2 - This will be on a lot of peoples list, i'm sure of it. I really loved the last one and the multiplayer, which was usually full of immature, underaged brats who like to scream down the mic, but still a lot of fun.

Here's the official site: http://www.gearsofwar.com/

4. Far Cry 2 - Probably won't have a good experience with it because i haven't got a good machine to play it on so i'll probably just wait until i do then play it. Seen trailers and it looks and sounds huge, the demo of a trailer which was huge said it was only 1% of the whole game. Graphics and gameplay look amazing, too.

Here;s the official site: http://farcry.uk.ubi.com/

5. Fable 2 - First one was great and i hope the other one is. After seeing the trailers it really does look as good, if not better. Graphics are quality and the gameplay looks a lot better, i think it's going to be more of a open-ended game like Oblivion which i like.

Here's the official site: http://www.lionhead.com/fable2/

This'll do for now and there is a lot more good games coming out this year.

First Post!

Been thinking for a while whether i should start a blog or not. This isn't the first time though because i have a blog on gametrailers which isn't really the same as this which made me start one on here. Blogging seems to be getting more popular by the day, as they can be used for just about anything, the main purpose of mine is just to discuss day-to-day events that occur which can be anything. I will try and keep it as interesting as possible, some blogs can be really boring and repetitive.

I will hopefully make this blog look a little more interesting though as it does look a little bland for now. Any ideas?
