Battlefield Beta Gameplay

As expected, this game is basically BF2 didn't really feel much different although there are quite a few changes like NO PRONE. Being a beta I didn't expect everything to go so smoothly, even just downloading it the first time, it stopped downloading about 2/3'rds of the way. I still had fun in the short time I've played it so far.

Any questions about this game I will answer to the best of my knowledge or if you'd like more videos showcasing different aspects just let me know by commenting or sending an E-mail.

Free Hugs!

So I was in town today and some random guy was holding a sign up with 'Free Hugs' on it and people were actually going up to him and hugging him, it was kinda funny.

I was sorting the blog out and couldn't figure out why the ads weren't appearing, it turns out adblock was guess what,,,blocking them! I felt like such an idiot.

The funniest review I have ever read.

I was looking for a new steering wheel to replace an Xbox 360 controller I use on the PC for a better experience. When I look at different items, I always have to read the reviews, comments etc...At first I was looking at the more expensive wheels around the £60 - £100 range. There were some good ones and I started to look at the cheaper JUST in case there was a good one. Then I seen one for just £19.99, it was called Easy Touch Joy-Steering Wheel and as usual I checked the reviews/comments and came across an hilarious review for it.

His problems started right from the start, the delivery man:

'What a load of rubbish. Well, it all started when the delivery man couldn't talk. I asked him where to sign and he was pointing all over the place. I finally found where to put my signature, so i took the package into my house so i could open it. What a disaster! when I ripped open the green - cheaply made - plastic bag, the bottom of the box fell out! So the periphial fell on the floor. Once I looked around the box there was rips and marks and it was all ready open! Once I installed all the drivers for the wheel I was ready to go. Uh-oh!

I got everything set and i touched the wheel, urgh. Cheap plastic. And so was everything else. The brakes had hardly no feedback too them (Too flimsy and soft) and the gear leaver moved in a 360 degree motion when it was supposed to only be forward and backward positions. The handbrake was a waste of time as well, yo pull it p and it feels like it will come clean off! The worst bit about it is that the wheel onlywent around 90 degress, when it was supposed to be 150! Another thing, the instruction manual. English it said. What english? All it is was some chinese bloke sitting there at a random foriegn warehouse printing letters randomly.

I am sending this item back for a full refund. And I am them going to buy the Trust GM-3200. I only brought this "Easy Touch Joy-Steering wheel" for a replacement to my Tust GM-3400.

AVOID THIS ITEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!'
"

This had me laughing for ages and just had to read it more than once, you kinda feel sorry for the guy who wrote it.

My CSS Map Progress

Decided I wanted to make a map for CSS and based it on the area I live in, it's not an exact representation but the houses, front and back gardens are pretty much the same as it is in real life.

The map is nowhere near done and has a lot of stuff that still needs to be added and finished such as the pub, houses, T spawn area and much much more...

I've done maps before but never released them, I will hopefully release this one and hope it's somewhat successful. So far I've recieved some positive feedback over at JTV where I am currently casting the map making. You can click the following link to go there, broadcast times are random.

In the future I might even convert this map into a L4d1/2 map.

The worst glitches I've came across in a game.

Every game has 'em but some are worse and far more common than others. If you're lucky, you might go through a whole play through without one, especially today's games that have a lot going on.

The first game I will mention is probably the worst or at least for me it was the worst, Saint's Row 1/2. Now it's not a game you really take seriously, it is a fun, blow the shit up type of game. The first glitch I came across in this game was the invisible car glitch, yes you heard it right, I was cruising along when all of a sudden my car stopped, I thought OK -hits the accelerate button- nothing, then it vanished! With just my character sitting there in a seating position mid-air like an idiot on drugs pretending to turn a steering wheel.

The next glitch I came across would impress superman, basically I jumped out of the tallest building and landed without dying.Hmmmmmm...... Another one which I started to use a lot, was the instant access into car from the hood glitch. I jumped on the front of the car, accidently hit the 'enter vehicle key' and wall-ah, I was in the car quicker than you can blink!

Now seeing all these glitches in the first one, you would've thought they'd at least sort even just a few out in the second, but nope they never. Oh and there is more in this game but I'll let you discover them.

The next game is FIFA which also hosts a couple of glitches, the weirdest one was in the arena in Fifa 09, after finishing a match, I returned to the main screen to switch game modes and when it does this it puts you straight into the arena, however, instead of giving me the outfield player to control, it gave me the keeper! I was like 'ermmm OK...this shouldn't happen' and not only that but the outfield player was being controlled by the AI taking shots.

1 more from the Fifa franchise and I think it was '09. In the arena again and the player I chose to control was Ronaldihno as he is the best player in the world. Well, Ronaldihno looked a little different, his face was all screwed up and he looked like the elephant man. Very Strange.

These glitches are just a few out of hundreds, maybe even thousands, some are acceptable but some are just annoying and can really spoil a game.

I will leave you this video done by The Angry Video Game Nerd about glitches.
Enjoy

Medal of Honor

I loved the Medal of Honour games and I think the last one I played was Pacific Assault. They offer great single player and multiplayer. Now there is a new one coming out called Medal of Honor set in modern day times, finally after so many years they are now finally rebooting the series and I have to tell you, it's shaping up to be a top contender and could possible take over Modern Warfare 2.

First 3D TVs

It's long until the first 3D TVs hit the stores. The expected date to see them in stores is in April.

There will be several TVs to choose from by the end of the year, details of them aren't complete as we don't know the price range or if you will have to wear glasses for the 3D effect.

Now onto the different types of 3D technology and one them is active shutter technology which most sets will be using. This works where powered glasses dim the glass over the left and right eyes. The effect is that each eye sees a separate stream of images which enable true 3D.

Then there's the cheaper alternative where you will have to use polarised glasses, like the ones handed to you in the cinemas for the latest 3D movies. These give each eye with a filtered version of the image on screen, so that each sees a slightly different image, tricking the brain into processing a 3D view.

Another thing is Sky will be launching their 3D channels in April, as well as 3D Blu-ray players.
