Finally Bought Fifa '08

Finally bought after many thoughts whether or not i should. Reason is that i had Call of Duty 4 on my mind as well. So i go to GAME and picks up a brand new copy which was about £44.99 - a bit pricey i know. Anyway, the bloke at the till asked me if i wanted a pre-owned for only £34.99. I thought OK because my last Fifa (07) worked well being a pre-owned. Before i purchased it the bloke warned me that there was 2 little scratches, which i thought 'oh well, i'll risk it'. Bad idea.

I get home to try my new Fifa (yay!), everything started up fine no funny sounds or CD stops. I thought i'd give be-a-pro mode out. Worked alright for about half of the match, at which point the CD stopped and disk read error popped up. Great! I tried it again but on a random quick match, same thing but with no sound. 3rd time never goes wrong, never. Weirdly enough, i kept this up for about a week then i just started getting annoyed with it. Once the players didn't show up so this ball looked like it was going round by itself, quite amusing.

Eventually i took it back to get a replacment which i did, the CD looked fine no marks, only a little circle which meant it would possibly go wrong and it did. This time it won't even start a match. Furthermore, i went back and thought 'third time lucky'. Guess what...it works great! This time though the bloke replaced my poor copy of Fifa with a brand new with no charge.

Finally, my thoughts on Fifa are that it is what Fifa '07 should've been. Plenty of leagues, players, skill moves, better player movement and online is also a lot better. In addition, Be-a-Pro mode is pretty cool online and offline, shame you can't do a season like you can on the PS2/PC version.

Overall rating for Fifa '08 would be 9/10.
